Deathmatch

A class designed to bring fear to every designer at the Circus. We have a week, two week tops to concept, execute and create shelf ready projects. Then we bring them in and are rated best to worst. They ranged from poster, t-shirt designs, rebranding a tv network, making videos...You name it, we did it. It was rough but they main point is to conquer your fears and just go for it. Even if you may fail...

Here are some highlights from my classes at the Circus

AMC's anti-heros

I needed to promote 3 shows for AMC. After some research I discovered AMC's main guys are all anti-heros. So why not make them into their own badass comic book superhero league? We named them the AMORAL ALLIANCE. The main guys featured: Rick Grimes (The Walking Dead), Walter White (Breaking Bad) and Jesse Cutter (Preacher). I also included a show card of all AMC's anti-heros. I juxtaposed real life photos next to their black and white comic book versions for the main characters and two of their sidekicks. Copywriter Knowlton Bourne.

Deathmatch poster

I had to create a poster that encompases the entirety of Deathmatch.  One week to make a shelf ready project and compete for the best spot. I created a collage of the the Circus Kraken (Deathmatch) against the small hero (designer). Who will will? That is for us to decide. Winners and losers each week had to write their name on the columns to the right and left.

Characters

At the Circus we take a class called Character development where we do exactly that. Here are a few of my favorites.

Paul Simon Anniversary Album set
I was assigned to make an anniversary album for Paul Simon. I titled it The Instrinsic Paul Simon because his songs seemed very self reflective. Thus I illustrated him in a peaceful environment. He and his dreams become one.
